Aramon, France – Aramon is located in the idyllic Gard-department in the Occitanie region near of Avignon in the south-east of France. The river Rhone is the natural border of the city Aramon.

To prepare Aramon against the flood events in the future, work commenced in 2018 to improve the dike's watertightness. For this reason, the CNR Direction Territoriale Rhône Méditerranée commissioned BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH to construct a Mixed-in-Place wall of 13,000 m² to seal the existing dike. Special challenges for this project: the Mixed-in-Place (MIP) wall can only be constructed from the very narrow dike crest.

The 550 mm wide and maximum 22 m deep Mixed-in-Place wall will be constructed between December 2018 and March 2019. The Mixed-in-Place wall will be excavated using a BG 40 with triple-auger MIP-equipment.
